I know I said I'd update more regularly but I am lazy plus I usually just eat dinner and watch Bob Ross paint half a painting before falling asleep at 9pm these days. And I'm trying to stay away from too many political-ish rants online. I mostly save that for the group text with my siblings (except for those days when I can't help but share a million things on Facebook OOPS).
Anyway, a text from Susie recently inspired me to give you guys a tiny update even though my life is the most boring.
So, Invisalign!! It's going very well. Most people have not noticed it at all, which might sound bad, but I'd like to avoid drawing attention to my teeth in my every day life. I barely even want to post photos here, honestly! I've mentioned this before, the only thing people tend to notice is how often I am brushing my teeth in the work bathroom. So many people have commented on my good dental hygiene and I'm like, please, I barely even flossed before my braces. I mean I told my dentist I did it regularly, but I really only did like twice a week... ANYWAY.
I'm about a 4th of the way through the entire process (on tray 11 out of 42) and it feels like nothing is happening. But then I look at a photo from last summer and realize what a hot mess my teeth were before. The bottom teeth keep looking better and better, and it's kind of shocking (to me, a person who has had these same teeth her entire life [ish]).
So here is a before pic for you:
It turns out there are maybe 3 photos of me ever smiling so I'm just gonna have to share 2 photos that have already been on this blog. I scrolled through my own Facebook photos for the last 10 minutes and couldn't find anything SORRY.
And here is a now pic (I took these about 10 minutes ago and I had to use Snapchat filters because I hate myself OK):
I'm not sure how different this will look to people who are not me, but basically my bottom teeth have moved from being crowded together on the right to be more spread out on the left. Something about them just looks healthier (and not just because I brush my them 5 times a day).
Anyway, for those of you who see no difference, let me show you with some TECHNOLOGY (provided to me by my orthodontist and I guess the people from Invisalign!)
TRAY 1:
Above is the front, left, and lower when I put the very first set of braces on (I didn't bother to include upper since nothing exciting is happening there yet).
Here we are a few months later, with TRAY 11:
It might not look like much, but I am pretty excited about my progress so far. I'm dying to get to like, October, to see them almost done. The process does feel a little slow sometimes but it beats having real braces!
I do have to admit I started drinking coffee again, but I'm going to try to stop. I definitely felt better when I wasn't drinking it, but it tastes sooooo good. It's like I started up all my old bad habits for new years, oops!
I had a whole thing about how shitty Trump has been less than a week into his presidency but I can't say I'm in the mood to write it now that I'm not fuming quietly at my desk. Maybe next time!
For now, I'm gonna focus on only good things, or at least try. Tonight I get to hang out with my baby Patches and pretty much do nothing, which is probably one of my favorite activities.
Hopefully everyone is having a nice week despite what is going on in the world. My advice to you if you are feeling worried is to take a break from reading the news for a day or 2, and just watch Bob Ross paint and tell you you can do anything!
Til the next time!
